Romancing the Freshwater Prawns
Rompin, the southern most district of Pahang has an area of 5,246 square kilometers. The seaside town of Kuala Rompin, largest in the district, serves as the gateway to both the Endau-Rompin State Park as well as the Island of Tioman.
Kuala Rompin is renowned for its freshwater prawns. The months of September and October are the best times to visit Rompin for the giant freshwater prawns of the Rompin River, Nenasi River and Anak Endau River.
Lanjut Beach A mere 15 kilometers away from the town of Kuala Rompin is Lanjut Beach, one of the most beautiful unspoilt beaches along the southern coast of the state.
Rompin is famous for its yummy prawn dishes.
The Tanjung Gemok Ferry Terminal is the gateway to Tioman Island.
