Bentong

An Entry Point to Pahang

Bentong is situated about 48 kilometres from Kuala Lumpur. Bentong is a small but busy town, whose prosperity is derived from the thriving rubber and timber industries. A bend of the old and the new, Bentong offers many fine examples of pre-war architecture along its street. As in other districts in Pahang, Bentong has its own place of interest.

1. Chamang Waterfalls

Chamang Waterfalls is located about 16 kilometeres from the town, off the trunk road of Bentong - Raub. Fed by the rivers, which begin at the Titiwangsa Range, Chamang Waterfalls is an ideal spot for family picnics. Public toilets, food stalls, parking lots, camping sites are available for visitors.

2. Bentong Hot Springs

About 20 minutes drive from Bentong, along the old Kuala Lumpur road, you will find the Bentong Hot Springs. The dissolved minerals in the waters are said to be the most therapeutic for the body. Surrounded by lust mountain greenery, the springs are an excellent place to soak and relax.

3. Lentang Forest Recreation Park

At kilometer 48 of the Kuala Lumpur - Karak Highway is Lentang Forest Recreation Park. The Forest reserve provides excellent camping sites for holiday makers and is an ideal place for both a relaxing and educational outing for families. The park boasts an auboreturn where trees and plants are cultivated for scientific and medical research. It is located around 32 kilometers from Bentong, near KL - Karak Highways. Public toilets, food stalls, parking lots, camping sites are available for visitors.

4. Mempaga Homestay

It is located about 34 kilometers from bentong and 10 kilometers from karak. Homestay Felda Mempaga provides important equipments for visitors along the homestay program.

Getting there

By Road:

Bentong is 48 km. from the City of Kuala Lumpur and 225 km. from Kuantan. Located in the western part of Pahang State, it’s easily accessible by road. A regular bus services of both local and express bus leave from Pekeliling Bus Terminal in Kuala Lumpur. From Kuantan express bus leave from Termainal Makmur twice daily. Taxi is easily hired from both town.

If you are coming from Kuala Lumpur take the Kuala Lumpur – Karak Highway and from Kuantan you may take the East Coast Highway. From Kota Bharu drive toward Machang- Kuala Krai – Gua Musang – Kuala Lipis – Raub and finally Bentong. This winding road is quite popular among the people of Kelantan to go home during holidays.
