If you’re en route to Kuantan along the East Coast Expressway and have time for a round of golf, check out Maran Hill Golf Resort located in the town of the same name.

About 45 minutes’ drive from Kuantan and two hours from KL, the par-72 golf course opened for play in 2003 and was designed in-house by the Maran District Council. The onset of the Covid-19 pandemic forced its closure until earlier this month, when play resumed after remedial work took it to playable levels.

The hilly golf course measures 6,022 metres from the blue tees with lakes, mature trees and doglegs placing a premium on strategic play. Golfers will need to focus on accuracy and distance control, especially on the approach shots to the smallish and tricky greens. Credit Info: Golf Matters
