Bamboo Hill

Bamboo Hill is the perfect place to relax and unwind. You can find us on Tioman Island an intriguing island of rainforest, sandy beaches and coral reefs in the South China Sea, off the east coast of peninsular Malaysia. Bamboo Hill is a place for those who don't want the standardized, impersonal, expensive service of a big resort nor the discomforts of a cheap beach hut. It is a place for those who want some of the spirit of the East and some of the standards of the West.

A restaurant serves local meals at a large wooden shack, but there are no other facilities at this rural resort. However, it provides a charming experience of village life, with casual staff composed of family members that run the resort, pleasant pastoral views and a messy landscape of trees, shrubs and farm animals to discover. The beach is of moderate distance away from the resort

Nora's Chalet

Nora's Chalet consists of 10 pretty basic wooden cabins at the southern section of Salang, in the north of Tioman Island. Apart from the simple nature of the lodgings and the welcome low room rates, we were smitten by the magnificent jungle-covered mountain backdrop just adjacent to Nora's Chalet.  What's really amazing is that the picturesque mountain side just "greens out" as far as the eye can see, and it's such an awesome sight that you really need gaze at it for some time in order to fully be able to take in. I guess city life has more or less reprogrammed our vision from distant mountain vistas and untouched jungle to city skylines and concrete jungle. Being able to set your sight at far-away panoramas is one of the reasons that drew us to Tioman.

Salang Huts

We offer budget accommodation for travelers, backpackers and divers. Rooms can be hired on a "room-only" basis from RM40 or with a package tour from RM260. Other than the low costs of RM40, this very basic place has nothing worth for you to stay there. Last time we did, our room was broken into and the pillow was moldy underneath the cover. Salang Hut is the last place on the far north of Salang beach (on your left when you arrive from the jetty), and only worth a try when everything else is full or you are on a really tight budget. The owner stays in room 10, you may have to wake him up. You can negotiate discounts for longer stays.

Idaman Beach Holiday Chalet

Idaman Beach Holiday is a budget resort at the southern end of Genting Village, where the jungle trail to Nipah Village starts. Bayu Tioman Chalet

Nestled quietly on the beach frontage at the edge of Genting Village, Tioman - Bayu Tioman Chalet is truly a place for those who seek for peace and privacy. A perfect hideaway for travellers, only 10 minutes walk from the jetty, you will be enchanted by its picturesque surrounding and just the right setting for a great holiday. You can walk along the paveways to our chalets and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the white sandy beaches and the refreshing green landscape. All chalets are timber made and are designed to merge with the surroundings, a distinction expression of Malay traditional architecture. A perspective view of Bayu Tioman Chalet. You can clearly see how peaceful and beautiful our place is. The tall slender coconut trees enhance the mood of being on an island, especially when you are staying on one of the ten most beautiful islands in the world!

Tropical Coral Inn

A group of my friends and I had left our Tioman booking till way too late, but luckily Tropical Coral Inn had 2 rooms available. Perfect for us, so we quickly snapped them up. Mind you, we weren't sure what to expect from a place that still had rooms when every other resort in Tioman was fully booked, but in hindsight, it's safe to say that Tropical Coral Inn is a little gem. Tropical Coral Inn is a budget hostel, so don't be expecting anything grandiose or majestic. Tropical Coral Inn is pretty basic and it's pretty cheap. But if you're good with basic and cheap, then give Tropical Coral Inn a go. You won't be disappointed. Anyways, believe you me, most of your days in Tioman will be spent outside somewhere. So as long as you're dry at night and you have a decent bed to sleep in, you're good to go with Tropical Coral Inn.
